Founders Highlight Series: Dolphin Research Institute
We are excited to interview the Executive Director of the Dolphin Research Institute (DRI), Jeff Weir! DRI was founded in 1991 by a passionate group of community members and marine scientists who were concerned about the implications of human disturbance on local dolphin populations. It has grown into a leading not-for-profit conservation and research organisation that actively engages the community in environmental sustainability.

Fellowship Spotlight: Stuart Brown
For this Fellowship Spotlight, we interviewed Stuart Brown who recently completed his Fellowship at Subak Australia. Stuart generated a high spatial resolution dataset of sea surface temperatures that characterises trajectories of warming for the world’s coral reefs. The dataset also shows the associated changes in bleaching risk over the time range of 1985 to 2100 using a range of climate models and future scenarios.

Member Spotlight: Blue Carbon Services
Blue Carbon Services uses seaweed to draw down excessive atmospheric carbon dioxide. As the kelp sheds its organic matter, it drifts into the nearby deep ocean locking the carbon away for 100s to 1000s of years.

Member Spotlight – The Good Rating
The Good Rating is one of the few not-for-profits selected for the inaugural Subak Australia accelerator program. Based in New Zealand, The not-for-profit is creating an app to rate the climate impact of all packaged food products sold in supermarkets in the country.
